5 Year 1 – what will I study? Aim: Provide the foundations in accounting and finance, economics and international business Introduce basic economic and statistical techniques that can be applied to the study of global business in 2nd and 3rd year Develop key transferable skills: Library and research skills – accessing data sources IT skills including , web, word processing and spreadsheets Original Thinking Applied

Core Financial Reporting (10) Introductory Management Accounting (10) Financial Decision Making (10) Financial and Digital Innovation in International Business (20) Academic and Career Development (10) TBC (20) – an additional core course unit to be confirmed Plus Microeconomics 1 (10) and Macroeconomics 1 (10) Plus either Introductory Mathematics (10) and Introductory Statistics for Economists (10) or Advanced Mathematics (10) and Advanced Statistics (10) (dependent on previous level of mathematics) Original Thinking Applied

7 Year 2 – course structure
Core Foundations of Finance (20) Managerial Economics I (20) Foundations of Strategy (10) Plus 70 credits from a range of course units in Accounting / Finance / Contexts for International Business / Economics such as: Investment Analysis (10) Mergers & Acquisitions : Financial Perspectives (10) The Politics of Globalisation (20) Business Law 1: Lab, Business Liabilities and the Consumer (10) Econometrics (20) Development Economics (10) Optional units can also be chosen from: University Language Centre (up to 20 credits) University College – including the Manchester Leadership Programme (up to 10 credits) Original Thinking Applied

Core International Finance (20) International Business Analysis Project (20) Managerial Economics II (20) Plus 60 credits from a range of course units in Accounting and Finance / Contexts for International Business / Economics such as: Advanced Management Accounting (20) Advanced Corporate Finance (20) Corporate Governance in Context (10) Innovation and Markets (10) Human Resource Management (10) Microeconomics III (20) Global Management, People and the Digital Divide (20) Optional units can also be chosen from the University Language Centre (up to 20 credits) not including beginner level Original Thinking Applied

9 Studying languages IBFE students have the opportunity to learn one of 15 different foreign languages in their second and final years Languages include: French Spanish Italian German Portuguese Japanese Chinese Turkish At various levels depending on previous experience: Beginners Introductory Pre-intermediate Intermediate Post-intermediate Further Advanced Arabic Dutch Korean Persian Russian Polish Urdu Original Thinking Applied

Job titles include: associate auditor, business consultant, commercial strategist, corporate banker, derivatives analyst, export manager. Some graduates start their own business What do they earn? £31k average salary within 6 months (DLHE) What about further study? 17 Alliance MBS Scholarships
