28 NL EN 81-70 Accessibility for persons with impaired mobility

29 NL EN81-70 Accessibility to lifts for persons including persons with disability 11-Nov-18

30 Main Requirements Entrance clear opening to be at least 800 mm The door time is to be adjustable (normally between 2 s and 20 s). Door close button in the car. 11-Nov-18

31 Main Requirements Minimum car dimensions Accessibility level 450 kg
Car width: mm Car Depth: mm This car accommodates one wheelchair user. 630 kg Car width : mm Car depth : mm wheelchair user and an accompanying person. 1 275 kg Car width : mm wheelchair user and several other users. It also allows a wheelchair to be rotated in the car. 11-Nov-18

32 Main Requirements On one side wall of the car a handrail shall be installed on a height of 900mm In case a user of a wheelchair cannot turn it around, a mirror shall be provided. 11-Nov-18

33 Main Requirements The car control panel location on the wall:
with centre opening doors, on the right hand side when entering the car; with side opening doors, on the closing jamb side Distance between centreline of buttons and corner: 400mm for car; and 500 mm for landing. 11-Nov-18

34 Main Requirements Control devices – Requirements (2) Subject
Landing controls Car controls Registration feedback Visible and audible, adjustable between 35 dB(A) and 65 dB(A)b. The audible signal shall be given on every individual operation of button even if the call is already registered. Button for building exit floor Not applicable 5mm beyond the other buttons preferably green Position of symbol on active part or 10 mm to 15 mm left of it Height of relief Minimum 0,8 mm 11-Nov-18

35 Control Device Subject Landing controls Car controls
Distance between active parts of buttons. Minimum 10 mm Distance between group of call buttons and other group of buttons Not applicable Twice the distance Minimum height between the floor level and the centreline of any button 900 mm Max height of centreline of the highest button 1 100 mm 1200 mm preferably 1100 11-Nov-18

36 NL EN 81-40 Stairlifts & Inclined Lifting Platform

37 European Norm: EN81-40 Stairlifts and inclined lifting platforms intended for persons with impaired mobility 11-Nov-18

38 NL EN Scope Safety requirements for construction, manufacturing, installation, maintenance and dismantling of: electrically operated stairlifts: e.g. Chair; Standing platform; and wheelchair platform affixed to a building structure, moving in an inclined plane; and intended for use by persons with impaired mobility

39 Main Requirements Rated speed: 0.15m/s max Rated load:
Minimum 115kg for person users and Minimum 250kg/m2 for wheel chair users

40 Minimum Clearance Dimensions
Standing Passenger Seated Passenger

41 Minimum Clearance on Wheelchair

42 European Norm: EN81-41 Vertical lifting platforms intended for use by persons with impaired mobility 11-Nov-18

43 NL EN 81-41 Safety requirements for construction, manufacturing, installation, maintenance and dismantling of: electrically powered vertical lifting platforms affixed to a building structure intended for use by persons with impaired mobility

44 Scope of NL EN 81-41 travelling vertically between predefined levels along a guided path whose inclination to the vertical does not exceed 15°; intended for use by persons with or without a wheelchair; with enclosed liftways; with a speed not greater than 0,15 m/s; with platforms where the carrier is not completely enclosed.

45 General Characteristics
Rated speed: 0.15 m/s max Rated load: 250kg/m2 Maximum rated load: 500kg Overload required Dimension: clear loading area of 2m2 max

46 Specific requirements for lifting platform enclosures
If travel is 3m or less Min door height 1100 mm If travel is more than 3m Min door height 2000 mm

47 NL EN 81-82 Accessibility Improvement of Existing Lift

48 Scope of NL EN 81-82 This European Standard provides rules on how to apply EN to existing lifts to improve their accessibility for persons including persons with disability.

49 NL EN81-31 Accessible Only Goods Lifts

50 Scope of NL EN 81-31 This European Standard covers:
accessible goods only lifts; With rated speed not exceeding 1m/s With rated load exceeding 300 kg; and Not intended to move persons.

51 Types of Accessible Goods only Lifts
Type A, where the intended use is bound to the following two simultaneous conditions: Maximum rated speed: 0,30 m/s; Maximum travelling height: 12 m; Type B, where one of the conditions mentioned above is not fulfilled.

52 Some important information
Automatic power operated doors shall not be used. Type A could be platform and not necessary enclosed cabin

53 NL EN81-22 Inclined Lifts

54 NL EN81-22 Safety rules for the construction and installation of permanently installed new electric lifts, with traction or positive drive, serving defined landings levels, having a vehicle designed to convey passengers or passengers and loads, suspended by ropes or chains and travelling in a vertical plan along guide rails that are inclined at an angle of between 15° and 75° in relation to the horizontal.

55 NL EN 81-22 Limitation Due to State of Art
Inclination: a variation in inclination is permitted for the travel path; travel path: confined within the vertical plane; Maximum capacity of the car: 7500 kg (100 passengers); maximum rated speed (v): 4 m/s.

56 EN81-22: Requirement Same principle of part 20 with the differences due to inclination, such as: Formula, for the clear distance needed in the headroom: 0.035V2 Sin∝
