Sole Proprietorship (yourself) General Partnership (you & a friend or spouse) Limited Partnership (separates limited & general for liability) C Corporation (many share holders, very complex to set up) S Corporation (preferred for real-estate investing, no corporate taxes) Limited Liability Company (members not liable and can choose to manage or hire out) Follow the Money Remember It’s a Business Multifamily Buildings and Complexes Office Buildings - Class A, B, C Retail Properties Mixed-Use Properties Industrial Properties Land You can also develop and rent out industrial parks or land. In the latter, you need to ensure that where you're developing is where people will be expanding to, otherwise you'll be left with an un-sellable, unprofitable property.
