1 Creating Scatterplots

2 Scatter Plots Click on “Home” or “On”.
This gives you an opportunity toward the bottom of the page to add a page. You want to choose the spreadsheet (the fourth one over). Cursor over to that and push enter. You will need to type a title in columns A and B (x and y if there is nothing else). Enter your domain in column A. Enter your range in column B.

3 Click on Home (On) Choose Data and Statistics (The one at the bottom that looks like a bar graph) Down where the x axis should be is a very light text box with “Click to add variable”. Move cursor over that and click. Choose “time” (or whatever you named the domain). On the left where the y axis should be is a very light text box again. Move the cursor over that and choose “distance” (or whatever you named the range).

4 Creating a Trend Line (Linear Regression)
Click on Menu > (4) Analyze > (6) Regression > (1) Show linear (mx + b) The trend line (or linear regression) should appear. To Trace along that line: Menu > (4) Analyze > (A) Graph Trace Using the left and right arrows you can move along that line. Using the up and down arrows, you can move between the dots on the scatter plot and the linear regression. CLICK ON THE X IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER AND TAB TO “NO” THEN PRESS ENTER TO DELETE GRAPH, ETC.

5 Correlation Coefficient
After inputting data Insert a calculator page: Menu 6: Statistics 1: Stat Calculations 3: Linear Regression Select the x and y variables from the Linear Regression menu Then click on ok. It is “r”
