There are 3 ways:
1. Update your list of colleges you are thinking about in Naviance’s Family Connection.
Click on the “colleges tab” in Naviance’s Family Connection to view the list of upcoming
college visits
Listen to SJET daily announcements
It is important that you:
- Stop by the College Counseling Office to obtain a permission slip if you will be missing class
- Sign up for these visits in Family Connection as we will use this as attendance to identify who attended the meeting.
You must sign up at least 24 hours before the visit or you will not be able to attend
the college visit.

How do I visit a college off-campus during a school day?
Complete the request to visit colleges off-campus by obtaining the off-campus visit form from the College Counseling office or obtaining it off the College Counseling website.
Obtain signatures from faculty members that will permit you to miss class.
Once complete, submit the signed form to the Dean of Students office. You must submit the form at least one week before your off-campus visit.
Off-campus college visits are available to juniors and seniors only.

How do I know when and were to apply…?
There are 4 ways:
Early Decision: Binding, early admission decision plan with deadlines typically in October or November with decisions rendered in December or January. There are some additional Early Decision plans in January. There are approximately only 1% of the over 3,000 colleges and universities that use an Early Decision plan. Students may only apply to one Early Decision plan.
Early Action: Non-binding, early admission plan with deadlines typically in November or December with decisions rendered in December or January. Students can apply to more then one university using Early Action.
Restrictive Early Action/Single-Choice Early Action: Non-binding, early admission plan with deadlines typically in November or December with decisions rendered in December or January. Students can apply to only one university using Restrictive Early Action.
Rolling admission/Regular admission: Non-binding, regular admission plan. Typically, these deadlines are later in December, January or into spring of your senior year.
