What is Eta Sigma Gamma? Eta Sigma Gamma (ESG), the national honorary for health education, was established on the campus of Ball State University in 1967 ESG has a rich history of serving students and the profession through teaching, service, and research and has grown to include over eighty chapters throughout the United States The Alpha Nu Chapter at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro was recognized on May 1, 1978

Mission/Purpose Promotion of the discipline by elevating the standards, ideals, competence and ethics of professionally prepared men and women in Health Education The primary purpose of ESG is to further the professional competence and dedication of individual members of the health education profession

Goals of the Honorary Supporting the planning, implementation and evaluation of health education programs and resources Stimulating and disseminating scientific research Motivating and providing health education services Recognizing academic achievement Supporting health education advocacy initiatives Promoting professional standards and ethics Promoting networking activities among health educators and related professionals

Takeaways Chapter Jenny Lee - President’s Rachel Ear - Vice President’s Interest meeting September 7th Applications are due by 5pm on the 22nd of September either to an eboard member or the ESG box in the PHE office General Body Meetings will be held once a month on a Thursday (subject to change according to future events)
