Chronological Most common and preferred by employers.
Listing of your job and experience with most recent work experience mentioned first. Good for job seekers who have practical work experience with long periods of employment. Utilize job description to craft bullet points.
15
Functional Résumé Focuses on your skills and accomplishments, does not use dates, and is best for people who do not have a lot of work experience or no experience. Emphasizes what you can do / transferable skills (i.e. technical skills, customer service skills, etc.) Matches your skills to the position for which you are applying for. Highlight experiences that directly relate to the job you are seeking Place things in order of importance rather than chronological order Ignore experiences that do not relate to the job for which you are applying May be good for career changers
17
Combination Résumé A blending of Chronological and Functional styles.
Highlights accomplishments and dates. Allows flexibility to pull out some key skill sets, while keeping a detailed list of employment history Find key skill sets by reviewing the job description
