Systematic Review Classes for Non-Librarians

History & Definition of SRs 2. Topic Refinement 3. Literature Searching 4. Citation Management 5. Study Selection and Assessment 6.Presenting Results (Blue: online and in person, Green: in-person & interactive) Class Design Lecture + Interactive activities + Screening exercises + EndNote & RefWorks Results: Participants’ Feedback Session 2: Performing the Review Session 1 Laying the Foundation Methods 3 month series consisted of 6 stand-alone sessions Four were streamed online (Blackboard Collaborate) Two in-person, interactive classes Taught by 2 librarians Participants received post-class surveys via “Level of detail was fabulous!” “Great series of classes-really helpful and pertinent to what I’ve been working on this semester.” 21 attendees Both sessions in person “This is a very relevant course to beginning researchers and should continue.” “I like that the two presenters tag teamed on the content to break up the monotony of having one speaker.” Conclusion and Lessons Learned Series was modified from a 6-class to a two-class series to accommodate student and faculty schedules More opportunities for participants to take classes Offer more class series each semester
