WorldStrides Heritage Performance
Hawaii

Location Oahu, the third largest and most populous Hawaiian island, has become a tourism and shopping haven as over five million visitors (mainly from the American mainland and Japan) flock there every year to enjoy the quintessential island holiday experience that the Hawaiian Islands and their multi-cultural people now personify.

Location Waikiki is a neighborhood of Honolulu on the south shore of the island of Oahu. Waikiki Beach is the shoreline fronting Waikiki and one of the best known beaches in the world. The neighborhood extends from the Ala Wai Canal (a channel dug to drain former wetlands) on the west and north, to Diamond Head on the east

Sightseeing Hanauma Bay is a marine bay formed within a volcanic cone or crater located along the southeast coast of Oahu, just east of Honolulu. Hana means “bay” and uma means “shelter,” rendering “shelter bay.” Hanauma is one of the most popular tourist destination on the island and visitors can experience the marine preserve of colorful reef fish and coral by renting local snorkeling equipment.

Sightseeing Diamond Head is a defining feature of the Waikiki landscape. The volcanic cone is a U.S. State Monument. The crater’s proximity to Honolulu’s resort hotels and beaches makes the rest of it a popular destination. A 0.75 mile hike leads to the edge of the crater’s rim. Although not difficult, the trail winds over uneven rock, ascends 74 steps, then through a tunnel and up another steep 99 steps. Next is a small tunnel to a narrow spiral staircase (about 30 steps) inside a coastal artillery observation platform built in From the summit above the platform, both Waikiki and the Pacific Ocean can be seen in a grand view.

Sightseeing Pearl Harbor - Much of the harbor and surrounding lands is a United States Navy deep-water naval base. It is also headquarters of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. The attack on Pearl Harbor by the Empire of Japan on December 7, 1941 brought the United States into World War II. USS Arizona - The USS Arizona Memorial, located at Pearl Harbor, marks the resting place of 1102 of the 1177 sailors killed on the USS Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Entertainment Polynesian Cultural Center - The Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) is considered to be one of the most widely visited tourist destinations in Hawaii. In recent years, it has become Hawaii’s number one paid attractions. Visitors are able to observe cultural activities by the peoples who inhabit the islands of the Central and South Pacific Ocean. Dole Plantation - The Dole Plantation on Oahu (Pineapple Express Tour) is a two-mile, 20-minute fully narrated train tour describing the history of pineapple and agriculture in Hawaii. The tour tells the story of James Dole and displays some of the most beautiful scenery on the North Shore.
