ASTEVEN RENEWABLE ENERGY ACADEMY (ASREA)
AIGBOKHAN JEREMIAH ADMINISTRATOR
2
ASREA OVERVIEW The growth of the Solar Industry in the country can be said to be rapid though its existence for almost two decades of limited exposure. The industry requires skilled workforce to propel its acceptance and recognition. The increased demand for solar technology and its products will require the absolute knowledge of its operation. Building the capacity in the Solar Industry will be a certain way to address this demand.
3
ASREA INTRODUCTION The first private Renewable Energy Academy in Nigeria. State-of-the-Art facilities. World class training. Well equipped workshop. Product oriented training.
4
ASREA DISTINGUISHED We deliver globally competitive training with trainers drawn from within and outside Nigeria. Apart from training, we build entrepreneurs and create jobs. Some of the trainees, upon graduation, will receive financial and technical support from ASteven Group to commence their careers in the solar energy sub-sector.
5
ASREA VISION To empower the society in a more evolving environment dealing with energy issues. To provide the best standard for renewable energy education and certifications of world class. To develop curricula, identify career pathways, share labour market data, and resolve issues related to solar training and workforce development.
6
ASREA OBJECTIVE Provide more hands-on learning opportunities.
Cultivate an educated workforce with the specialized training needed to start a new career in solar. To improve training programs in the solar industry sector. Aiming professionalism that can add to the research capabilities.
7
ASREA COMMISSIONED The center was on the 24th of February 2018, commissioned by the President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Dr. Bukola Abubakar Saraki. Ever since its inception, ASREA has competently trained and certified over 100 installers and technicians in Solar Photovoltaic Installation (SPVI), Maintenance, Troubleshooting and ASteven Products Training.
8
ASREA STATE-OF-THE-ART
The Solar Simulator of latest design which simulates the sun energy with a radioactive element called xenon, it records the real wattage absorbed from the solar panels and the efficiency of the panel be it the Monoclinic, Polyclinic or Amorphous. At ASteven Group we test and update panels we manufacture improving standard.
9
ASREA STATE-OF-THE-ART
The Integrating Sphere is a device used to test the less energy bulbs installed in households and offices for accurate wattage and the light intensity the bulbs dissipate. The Integrating Sphere can test the Alternating and Direct Current (AC & DC) less energy bulbs even the LED bulbs.
10
ASREA STATE-OF-THE-ART
The Simulation Board is used basically in practical sessions as the first approach to solar installation ethics and practices while making connections. Hand's-on experience is a key to unlocking the knowledge behind the technique.
11
ASTEVEN PRODUCT TRAININGS
ASteven Group engages youths in empowerment programs in training of ASteven products, thereby creating jobs and alleviating poverty. Currently ASteven is in partnership with the Kwara State Government to empower the youths with ASteven products worth 1 Million Naira each, ASREA trains competently with Solar Photovoltaics in perspective.

COURSES AVAILABLE Solar Photovoltaic Installation (SPVI) , Maintenance and Troubleshooting. Solar Water Pump Installation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting. Solar Water Heater Installation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting. Solar Air Condition Installation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting. Solar PV System design Electrical Energy Audit Hybrid Systems Design
13
SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION (SPVI)
The purpose of the Solar Photovoltaic Installation Training Programme is to develop technical skills and knowledge consistent with entry level qualifications specified by regulatory boards and agencies of Technical Education for technicians seeking entry to the photovoltaic Installation Industry worldwide. The course includes a mix of theory and practical. As a prerequisite, candidates must have prior knowledge of electrical theory.
14
SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION (SPVI)
Students are given the opportunity to experience real life scenarios that confront our installers and designers as they implement best practices related to panel mounting, cabling, balance of systems installation, code compliance and design application submissions.
15
SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION (SPVI)
With respect to practical exercises, students will work in small groups to: Determine production capability of a location with the assistance of an irradiance meter Wire major system components using PV kits to demonstrate the photovoltaic, battery charging and inverter effect.
16
SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION (SPVI)
At the successful completion of the course, students will be able to: Determine appropriate system type - off grid, grid tied or hybrid systems; Select and configure the major components – panels, inverters, charge controllers, batteries and other balance of system components;
17
SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION (SPVI)
Configure PV panel arrays and battery arrays, Understand the performance and sizing characteristics of the equipment, Troubleshooting basic systems problems and installation errors, Demonstrate safe working practices for working aloft, working with hand and basic power tools.
18
SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATION (SPVI)
Mount Panels on Flat and inclined Roofs and on Pole mounts Install & Maintain Batteries Calculate wire sizes, specifying conduits and raceways Install and wire Inverters, Charge Controllers, Fuses, Breakers, etc.
