All visitors are required to show their ID to the camera before gaining entrance to the school.
Your ID will be scanned upon entering to gain a RAPTOR badge Students are required to wear the ID badges all day. Campus Security

Continuum of Consequences

Reflection Sheet When a child has a difficult time following the rules, they will fill out a reflection sheet. The reflection sheet will come home with the child for a signature. Once a child has accumulated three reflection sheets, an office referral will occur, resulting in a N on the report card.

Writing Develop a love of Writing with the use of the Writer’s Notebook Mini-lessons taught will be kept in the Writer’s Notebook. Binders will be used for the use of the writing process and publishing Grammar will be a big part of the writing grade, with quizzes every 1-2 weeks

Reading Instill the love of reading.
Deepening comprehension through the use of reading strategies. Reading is logged at school and home using the Google Form. It will be ed by your child’s reading teacher. Students are expected to read at home.

Word Study Students will be given an assessment every 5 weeks. The assessment will be aligned with the word study instruction. The assessments are a minor grade.

Science Focus on earth, life, and physical science and how it follows a cyclical pattern. Specific units are: Matter and Energy Force, Motion, and Energy Body Systems Organisms and the Environment Earth’s Changes and Resources Earth’s Cycles and Patterns

Social Studies Basic Maps and geography skills
Develop an appreciation for Texas through the study of Texas history The influence of the United States on Texas history and growth

They will use the same log-in for MyKatyCloud and Canvas Your child can access Canvas through MyKatyCloud or at Parents can log-in using their Home Access Center log-in Great for dates and resources
