2 CHD Coronary Heart Disease
Damage to the heart due to decreased blood supply. Fatty deposits build up on the linings of the blood vessels causing them to narrow. The narrowing reduces the blood supply to the heart muscles and causes pain.

3 DM Diabetes Mellitus Disorder of the pancreas. Cannot produce insulin.
Causes high levels of blood sugar (hyperglycemia).

8 PD Parkinson’s Disease Progressive and degenerative.
Symptoms: trembling of the arms, jaw, legs, and face; stiffness of the limbs and trunk; slowness of movement, impaired balance

9 RA Rheumatoid Arthritis
Body’s immune system attacks joints, causing hot, painful swelling and deformity.

10 SIDS Sudden Infant Death Syndrome
Unexplained, sudden death of an infant up to 1 year of age.

11 TB Tuberculosis A disease caused by a bacteria.
The bacteria can attack any part of the body, but usually attacks the lungs. TB was once the leading cause of death in the United States.

12 URI Upper Respiratory Infection

13 UTI Urinary Tract Infection

14 CHF Congestive Heart Failure Heart failure caused weak heart.
Fluids collect in the body.

15 DT Delirium Tremors Withdrawal from excessive alcohol use.
Symptoms include fever, tremors, ataxia, seizures, and frightening hallucinations.

16 EP Ectopic pregnancy Pregnancy in which the fertilized egg implants outside the uterus
