Only put the part of the quote that you need in your paper. There is no need to write long quotations.
If you need to cut out a middle you may use brackets. BUT ONLY IN THE MIDDLE, NOT AT THE BEGINNING OR END.
Example: Hale’s concern is apparent when he says, “Woman, plead with him […] What profit him to bleed?” (152)
