INTRODUCTION The internet of Things (IoT) is a network of physical objects or “things” embedded with electronics, software, sensors and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data.
3
“THINGS….” "Things," in the IoT sense, can refer to a wide variety of devices such as heart monitoring implants, biochip transponders on farm animals, electric clams in coastal waters ,automobiles with built-in sensors, DNA analysis devices for environmental/food/pathogen monitoring or

SENSORS : We are giving our world a digital nervous system
SENSORS : We are giving our world a digital nervous system. Location data GPS sensors. Eyes and ears using cameras and microphones, along with sensory organs that measure everything from temperature to pressure changes.
6
Emerging Trends Miniaturization of devices
Wireless Personal Area Networks Things [IPSO] Mobile phones as data capturing devices Low power and energy-neutral devices Handling High Volume and high bandwidth data Autonomic management

Challenges to IOT Deployment of IPV6 – Internet protocol V6
Sensor energy – Developing energy sources for millions even billions of sensors. Standards – Establishing a common set of standards between companies, education systems and nations.
