FY15 High-Level Finance Goals
Operate within the Partners financial framework Manage the Partners and Entity budget processes, and develop accountability and support structures to ensure that Partners and the institutions achieve their operating margin targets Manage capital investments within envelope of available funding and facilitate decision making regarding an appropriate portfolio of projects Manage framework challenges, including prioritization of capital projects and balancing the allocation of capital and debt between well capitalized and undercapitalized institutions Actively support the following Partners-wide efforts Partners Strategic Plan Patient Affordability Support Patient Affordability efforts through identifying key cost drivers and recommending system-wide efforts to reduce cost and improve productivity to the Patient Affordability Executive Committee. Population Health and Redesign of “Patient Journey” Support Patient Journey Committee in developing recommendations to optimize eCare impact on care coordination across the System Healthcare Reform/Payment Reform Develop a risk based contracting strategy that supports our covered lives, quality and affordability objectives Develop a strategy to prepare for likely CMS adoption of episode bundles and bundled payments to support population health Develop an Insurance Strategy that supports our covered lives, referral, cost management and mission objectives Partners eCare program Ensure that BWHC/PHH goes live successfully on all Epic applications, while continuing to stabilize and optimize the Epic system and workflows for NWH and MGH

Expedite progress toward common information systems and business processes utilizing continuous process improvement for key financial functions Continue development of enterprise data warehouse to support a more effective, rapid and efficient set of analytics to support business decisions . Standardize data and processes where appropriate. Develop a routine corporate-wide approach to process improvement that yields measurable ROI. Continue integration of existing and new entities into PHS Revenue, planning, managed care and Cost Reporting processes Support system-wide and entity business and payer strategy planning efforts with timely, high quality analytics Primary care and ambulatory service plans Other Delivery system and service development to support population health and referral strategy development Pricing and contract strategy for referral business Monitor insurance, competitor and new “entrant” trends and assess potential impact on PHS and implications for strategy
