Trip Preparations Research the laws, customs, culture, etc. of your destination. Consider registering with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), at: https://step.state.gov/step/.https://step.state.gov/step/ Create photocopies of all relevant travel documents in case of loss/theft. Become familiar with basic group plans/itinerary. Pack appropriately for the culture and weather. Acquire emergency contact information (Family, trip leader, local law enforcement, etc.).
