Activator Take out your Packet Leave your homework on the corner of your desk Solve MENTALLY (no calculators, no writing, no air writing, no talking): X + 28 = 90

Common Assessment 8 Please get a Common Assessment #8 to complete
You will have 15 minutes to work on it (please make sure your name is on it before you hand it in) Check it over and make sure you answered everything before turning it in.

Objective I will be able to calculate missing angle measures
So that I can write and solve equations. I will know I got it when I can solve at least 6 out of the 9 levels independently. (6.EE.B.5, 6.EE.B.6)
5
Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of reading and writing to communicate the academic math language of measuring angles. They will verbally communicate and write and solve equations of measuring angles using their understanding of academic math language of angles. They will show their understanding by completing 6 out of the 9 levels independently with 80% accuracy. Academic math Language Vocabulary: acute, obtuse, right, straight line, reflex angles.
6
Two column Notes Acute Obtuse Right Less than 90° Between 90° and 180°
Exactly 90° (complementary angles add to 90°)
7
Two column Notes Straight Exactly 180°
Reflex Exactly 180° (supplementary angles add to 180°) Between 180° and 360°

I do… pg. 153 #1 x + 52 = 90 x + 52 = 90 x = 38

I can use my examples to help!
Everyone independently start on LEVEL 1 half sheet. When done, come see a teacher. If correct, teacher will ask to move to the next level. Our goal, complete at least 6 out of the 9 level worksheets.

Ticket to go Write an equation and solve for the missing angle.
Alejandro is repairing a stained glass window and he needs to take it apart to repair it. Before taking it apart, he makes a sketch with angle measures to put it back together.
