Day 1 – Travel to London Day 2 – Walking tour of London Day 3 – Guided Tour, Imperial War Museum, Churchill Cabinet War Rooms Day 4 – Canterbury, Travel to Normandy by Ferry Day 5 – D-Day Beaches Tour, Juno Beach, Beny-sur-Mer War Cemetery, Bayeux Tapestry Day 6 – Vimy Ridge 95 th Anniversary and trench tours. Day 7 – Guided tour of Paris, École Militaire, Napoleons Tomb Day 8 – Walking tour of Paris, Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral Day 9 – Travel to Calgary

October 6, 2011 - Registration of Travelers begins. Initial NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $99, plus $89 insurance fee November 8, 2011 - Payment of $700 due January 12, 2012 – Parent Update Meeting January 30, 2012 – Final Payment Due February 1, 2012 – Mandatory Lessons for Students begin. March 1, 2012 – Parent Meeting. Review of Parent Information Booklet. Mandatory Attendance for Parent/ Guardian of all Travelers April 4, 2012 – Europe 2012 departure.

1. This is a proposed trip. Final approval is to follow. The CBE has the right to cancel the trip up to the departure date and to recall a trip if necessary. The reasons could be political, economic or safety. 2. The CBE is not financially responsible for refunds. 3. All students travelling must be identified as fit to travel. 4. Financial accountability will be maintained and all trip fees will be collected through and disbursed from school accounts.

Must be eligible to graduate in June 2012 Cannot be a smoker Physically able to handle large amounts of walking and climbing Demonstrates an understanding of the Four Pillars in daily behaviour and conduct Attendance cannot be a concern Required to attend all preliminary education sessions

One of the questions which will be asked of Mrs. Siemens: How do you know that your students are prepared and fit to travel? This refers to medical, emotional, behavioural, and academic fitness to travel. Any student who doesnt meet the profile is ineligible to travel.

There is a very small amount of financial assistance available on a case by case basis. Should this be required, please make an appointment to see Mr. Black. Fundraising opportunities are available to all travelers and their families through School Council.

All questions and concerns are to be directed to Mrs. Siemens and not directly to EF Tours. In accordance with Calgary Board of Education policy, all communications with EF Tours is done through the school.

1. All fundraising is conducted and accounted for through School Council. 2. No person can benefit financially from fundraising. 3. The school is not a fundraising body. Mr. Blacks obligation is to ensure all fundraising regulations are followed. 4. The focus of this trip is the enriched educational opportunities it presents students. It is not mandatory, nor can it distract from the primary focus of the school; teaching and learning.
