Short Term effects of bullying
Problems with sleep-victims may struggle to fall asleep with the worry of what lies ahead the next day or have a disturbed sleeping pattern Problems with peers- victims may struggle to socialize with peers, peer rejection often gets worse when a victim is being bullied Problems with academic achievement- Victims often lose focus in school due to the worry and fear of bullying and this can effect their academic levels Victims may consider suicide- Very often victims are suffering so much pain and trauma that they want the bullying to end and consider suicide as a way out.

Long Term effects -Less opportunities of a career -Feelings of anger and bitterness, desire for revenge- ay lead to -Difficulty trusting people -Interpersonal difficulties, including fear and avoidance of new social situations -Perception of self as easy to victimize, overly -sensitive, and thin-skinned -Self-esteem problems (don't think well of self)

Bullying Fact file You must research using the internet a famous person that has been bullied and create a fact file with the following information Name of the person Age Gender What they are famous for? What Is the reason they were bullied? Ensure you add information about the comments made What type of bullying is this? How did it effect their life? How did this person overcome bullying? What advice would you have offered this person?

So what is Cyber bullying?
Cyberbullying is the use of technology to harass, threaten, embarrass, or target another person. By definition, it occurs among young people. When an adult is involved, it may meet the definition of cyber-harassment or cyberstalking, a crime that can have legal consequences and involve jail time. Why do we think it is very common amongst young people today?

Cyberbullying Guidance
We will now watch a video to gather some more information on cyber bullying and how it can be harmful to our health as teenagers. Whilst watching the video, look closely for examples of cyber bullying that are mentioned

Task 1 With your table members you must complete the brainstorm activity to see if you can recall or record any types of cyberbullying that you are aware off. You have 4 minutes to work on this activity.

Cyber stalking – cyber stalking can be described as the obsessive sending of messages to a person. This eventually frightens and worries the person receiving these messages, as they will begin to question their own safety and well-being. Degradation/humiliation – bullies will use cyber bullying to spread rumors and hearsay with the purpose of damaging the victim’s reputation Harassing – this type of cyberbullying examples includes the persistent sending of insulting and threatening messages via the internet or cell phones. Impersonating – impersonation is the act of taking on a false identity for the purpose of tormenting a person and damaging their reputation. Text messaging – most bullies will use text messaging to torment another teenager or pre-teen. Password theft – some bullies will do everything possible to gain the passwords of a teenager illegally. After gaining these passwords, the bully enters the victim’s sites and locks them out Website creation – bullies can create websites and pages and fill them with insulting statements and remarks for the sole purpose of tormenting and humiliating a person. Use of Photos and images – bullies will upload private or embarrassing images of their victims all over the internet to torment and humiliate them.
