9 Bags - Bike Red Please check that you include: Helmet Glasses Socks
Bike shoes (it is allowed to leave shoes attached to the bike) Food Liquids This bag is mandatory to leave it on Friday during the check in process. Remember to add your race number on the bag

10 Bags - Special needs for the Bike (Purple bag)
Please check that you include and leave on Saturday at the dedicated space next to the T1 LOC will move it to the Bike special needs area : Food Liquids Spare parts etc. Remember to add your race number on the bag

11 Bags - Bike to Run Blue (LD)/ Orange (Aquabike)
Please check that you include: Running shoes Bib number (LD only) Glasses Socks Food This bag is mandatory to leave it on Friday during the check in process. Leave it at dedicated space next to the T1 and the LOC will transfer it to T2 Remember to add your race number on the bag

12 Bags - Special needs for the Run Orange
Please check that you include and leave on Saturday at the dedicated space next to the T1 and the LOC will move it to the Run special needs area: Food Liquids etc. Remember to add your race number on the bag

13 Bags for after race Green
Please check that you include: Dry clothes to use after the race Everything you need to use once you finish your race This bag can be left on Friday during the check in process. Leave it at dedicated space next to the T1 and the LOC will transfer it to finish Remember to add your race number on the bag

16 Friday Check-in procedures
At the Transition Area Only registered athletes with a red wristband may enter for Long Distance, orange Wristband for Aquabike and green for open. Enter through your dedicated gates provided to transition. Bike check – legal bars, frame, wheels, bike numbers Helmet check – snug strap, no cracks, numbers attached You can take your helmet and bring it back on race day. Your helmet can either go inside the bike bag or be attached to the bike.

17 Friday Check-in procedures
At the Transition Area Bike shoes, can be attached to the bike. Rest of equipment, like glasses, uniform, etc.; must go into the BIKE bag To add any equipment to the bike, you must obtain approval from the Head Referee up until 10 minutes after the end of the Athletes‘ Briefing

18 Saturday Last Minute Check-in procedures
Transition Area will be opened from 5:50 to 6:50 for last minute check in: Only registered athletes with a red wristband may enter for Long Distance, orange Wristband for Aquabike and green for open. Uniform check Body Marking/ wetsuit marking Check – Tattoos are provided in race kits and must be on prior to entering on race morning. Timing Chip – pick up your chip as you enter transition and put it on immediately. All “Marks” will be removed by Technical Officials

19 Saturday Last Minute Check-in procedures
Transition Area will be opened from 5:50 to 6:50 for last minute check in: Remember to check all of your gear bags Bike mechanical service and bike pumps will be available in the transition area on race morning. Eye glasses: Glasses must be labeled with the athlete’s race number. There will be a glasses table at the swim start and exit Portable toilets will be available in transition

20 Allowed equipment - Uniform
Swim Wetsuits up to 5mm thickness Vest warmers are NOT allowed Gloves are NOT permitted Any part of the body may be covered except the face, hands and feet PARA No prothesis socks, unless the pins are adequately covered. This will be checked PARA PTVI B1 athletes must wear black-out goggles for the swim and can only be removed when at transition

21 Allow Equipment - Uniform
Bike & Run Athletes can wear long sleeved shirt under their uniform – it can be removed only in T1 or T2 Arm warmers can be worn and can be removed during the event. Do not remove during the race and hand to someone else. This will lead to DSQ If you prefer to wear a jacket during the event, it must be clear/transparent or national federation kit.

23 Pre-start Procedure Athlete line-up:
3 waiting areas : Pre-start 1 -> Pre start 2 -> next to start line Know your start time and be on time. Report 15 min before in the pre-start Toilets on the pier before entering the start area Go through a start audit timing mat to officially register yourself into the race results system. Follow the instruction of the officials and swim to the buoys when asked to do so. Position yourself behind the virtual lines formed by the start buoys. PARA - Official can take your prosthesis, crutches, etc. to pre transition (use sticker to label it)

24 Start Procedure Athletes in position:
The start can be given any time after the Head Referee announces ”On your mark” Air horn blast The race starts After race starts, athletes must move forward Athletes starting in a wave earlier than their allocated one will be disqualified. If athletes start later than their allocated wave, their time will be from their original start time.

Air temperature: 16 ºC Wetsuit - will be announced 1h before start 1 lap of 3,000m, clockwise Keep all the green buoys to the left and all the red/ orange buoys to your right Safety zone between the out and back flow Exit at the half way point of the course (steps), pass through the timing mat and dive or get in the water again (n/a for paratriathlon)

Take cap, goggles, wetsuit to the bags area, once you finish the swim and place them inside your bike bag. This bag will be transferred by the LOC to the post finish area Wetsuit removal is allowed only at the changing tents. Stopping at the swim exit path with result a time penalty

30 Transition Area #1 Once you finish the Swim, go to the bags area. At the bags area, there will be volunteers to assist with the removal of the wetsuits: Take your Bike bag, and put on your Bike gear Leave inside the bag, all the Swim gear (wetsuit, goggles, Swim cap) Leave the bag in the space There will be tents available per gender. Go to your position in the transition area and take your Bike. Remember to fasten your helmet before taking your bike. You will find orientation boards at the beginning of each row. The mount line will be green and will be located at the start of the bike

32 Bike course The Bike course is a total of 121 km, as follows:
First part is T1 to 1 lap point of 1km Second part with 2 laps of 59.4km Third part is from lap to T2 of 1.2km Course is fairly flat KM markers every 5km Timing verification on both lap point and northern most point Drafting is not allowed Bib number on the bike is optional Always stay on the right/ pass on the left Dismount line on the road before transition

34 Bike Considerations There will be sections for cars to cross. These are managed by traffic officials There are some narrow sections on the course. Keep to the right side of the road at all times.

There will be 3 bike aid stations x lap, that will be passed twice. At each aid station, you can find portable toilets Aid Stations will be located at km - 17, 37, 60, 76, 96, 119 Water (700 ml sport cap bottle) F2C Glyco Durance Bananas Power Bar (Gels and Bars)

Athletes may place their preferred nutrition items, spare bike tubes, Vaseline or any other items they may need in their Bike Special Needs bags. Please note these bags will NOT be returned to athletes after the race.

40 Bike course - Mechanical services
2 Mechanical Support Vehicles will be on the course to assist with repairs whenever possible. i.e. replacement of tubes, tires, chains etc. If you require mechanical support, move to the closest volunteer position.

41 Rules This is a NON DRAFTING event.
The legal distance in between Bikes, from front Wheel to front Wheel is 12 m. The same distance is needed between a motorbike and a bike. The legal distance from a vehicle is 35 m.

(from your front wheel to their front wheel) Motorbike Draft Zone: 12m behind motorbike

43 Drafting Rules An athlete may enter a bike draft zone in the following circumstances: If the athlete enters the draft zone, and progresses through it within the allotted time in the process of overtaking; For safety reasons; 100 meters before and after an aid station or transition area; At an acute turn;

44 Drafting Rules Overtaking:
An athlete is passed when another athlete's front wheel is ahead of theirs; An overtaken athlete must drop out of the draft zone of the passing athlete by continuously make rearward progress out of the draft zone of the passing athlete. Re-passing by an overtaken athlete prior to dropping out of the draft zone will result in a drafting violation; Overtaken athletes who remain within the draft zone of the passing athlete for more than the allotted time will be given a drafting violation;

45 Blocking Rule Athletes must keep to the side of the course and not create a blocking incident; Blocking is where an athlete who is behind cannot pass due to the leading athlete being poorly placed on the course; Athletes seen blocking by a Technical Official will incur a time penalty of at the next bike penalty box.

46 Bike Infringements During the Bike segment, Technical Officials can show 2 different cards (blue and yellow) In case you receive a Blue card, you have to stop at the next penalty box for 5 minutes. In case you receive a Yellow card, you have to stop at the next penalty box for 1 minute. Drafting infringement Other infringements (blocking, littering, etc.)

47 Bike Infringements The Technical Official will determine the time penalty, and notify the Athlete as soon as it is safe to do so: Drafting infringements: Sounding a whistle, showing a blue card, calling in English the Athlete’s number and saying, “Drafting Penalty, you have to stop at the next penalty box.” Other infringements: Sounding a whistle, showing a yellow card, calling in English the Athlete’s number and saying, “Time Penalty, you have to stop at the next penalty box.” It is the athletes responsibility to stop at the next Penalty Box. Failing to do this will result in a DSQ. The drafting penalties are accumulated. A third drafting offence will lead to a DSQ.

49 Bike Infringements The penalised athlete will enter the penalty box, dismount the bike and inform the Technical Official of their race number the number of penalties to serve and the colour of card(s) received. The time penalty starts when the athlete complies with all above and ends when the Technical Official says “Go”, at which time the athlete may continue with the competition. If the athlete leaves the area, the Technical Official will ask the athlete to return and the time will be paused. Once the athlete complies the count will continue;

50 Bike Infringements While in the bike penalty box, athletes can consume only the food and/or water that is on the athlete’s bike or person; Athletes are prohibited from using the restroom while serving a penalty in the bike penalty box. The time of penalty will be paused while using the restroom; Making adjustments to equipment or performing any type of bike maintenance while serving a penalty in the bike penalty box is prohibited.

52 AquaBike Finish AquaBike Finish will be at Thomas B Thriges gade, 200m from T2 As soon as you pass the finish, continue slowly until the T2 through the dedicated entrance. Dismount at the red dismount line Once in transition, the volunteers will take your bicycle from you; and you will continue to the bags area

53 AquaBike Finish Once you arrive at the bags area:
Take your orange bag, and put on your Run gear Leave inside the bag, all the Bike gear, including the helmet Leave the bag in the space There will be tents available Wear the bib number on the front If you want to finish through the finish chute you will be able to do so after the first three men and woman on the long distance have finished. You cannot walk with your bike shoes to the finish area.

60 Penalties How do you know if you need to serve a penalty?
The official will do the following – Sound a whistle or horn Show a YELLOW CARD Call your number Advise you of the PENALTY The 60 seconds penalty is served on the spot. Follow the instruction of the Technical Officials. If you are shown a RED CARD, you may be disqualified

61 Long Distance Finish When you finish, keep moving through to the mixed-zone and recovery area You will get your Finisher Medal and Finisher t-shirt Get your morning gear bag and exit the area Anti-Doping Control: photo ID is needed for every athlete to have ready for Doping Control

62 Bike check out 13:00 to 20:00 You with your wristband or anyone else with the bike check out ticket Entrance through P14 gate.

64 Medal Ceremonies As per the ITU Competition rules:
2.8 c.) (i) Athletes must wear the uniform during the entire competition and award ceremony. Long sleeves and long pants are allowed for the award ceremony Kids are not allowed on the podium. If you can not attend the medal ceremony, your Team Manager or one of your team mates should pick up your medal at the end of the ceremony. 20.00pm on Saturday Meeting for the medal ceremonies:  on the right side facing the stage.

65 Closing Ceremony The Closing Ceremony and After Party will take place in Kings Garden, from 19:30. Everyone is welcome to attend this event! Athletes from all races, families, friends and coaches can partake in the celebrations!
