They could be a sentence, a phrase, even a single word!
Quotes Quote should be brief. They could be a sentence, a phrase, even a single word! They should almost never be longer than one sentence or two(ish) lines.

Quotes “Comrades!” he cried. “You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. I dislike them myself! Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples (and this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brain-workers. The whole management and organization of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for your sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples. Do you know what would happen if we pigs failed in our duty? Jones would come back! Yes, Jones would come back! Surely, comrades,” cried Squealer almost pleadingly, skipping from side to side and whisking his tail, “surely there is no one among you who wants to see Jones come back?” (22). This shows Squealer’s ability to trick the animals into believing that luxuries for the pigs benefit the whole farm. Squealer justifies the pigs’ indulgence in luxuries by explaining that they eat apples and milk “to preserve [their] health” because they are “brain- workers” and therefore essential to the management of the farm (22).

Analysis Do not only explain what’s going on. (That’s just a summary.) Make it PAINFULLY CLEAR how this quote supports your argument. Remember: Imagine I’m dumb! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
