√ Popular Vote (millions): Trump 62.4, Clinton 64.6 √ Last polls said Hillary (4-way race) was ahead: NBC/SM, Monmouth CBS, Fox, ABC/WaPo, Economist/YouGov, Gravis Bloomberg, Reuters/Ipsos Rasmussen* (almost exact) IBD Media, pundits, political establishment and Clinton campaign shocked by her loss (corrupt & clueless). Reps had pervasive landslide: House + Senate, Dems have Gov and 2 legislatures in only 4 states.

10 What Caused Electon Results
√ Clinton had turnout issues with heavy DEM groups <30’s and AAs. Was lower than 2012 and % of vote less. Trump groups, higher turnout. √ Clinton got lower % women’s vote than Obama, lower % among Hispanics and Blacks. Working class base abandoned Dems in Midwest (fed up with globalization). Unions lost control. The Dems war on coal (WV, KY, PA, OH). Mainstream media lost control of political message. Wikileaks DNC and Podesta s. FBI investigations.

11 The Global Perspective
Trump’s election is part of a global trend: anti-globalist, anti-multiculturalism, nationalist. This is neither Right, nor Left, but Popularist. Showed up 1st in EU Parliamentary elections 2014. Major victory with BREXIT in June. Italian Referendum next test on Dec 4th. French, Dutch, and German elections in Wilders likely winner in Holland, Le Pen in France (would mean end of EU). Merkel defeat, blow to EU
