Donald Trump is a US businessman who became famous for running the Unites States version of “the apprentice”
He is worth $3.7 billion dollars.
He became the republican candidate in May after beating 16 others including Ted Cruz and John Kasich.
He ran for president against Hilary Clinton in a fierce campaign including three televised debates broadcast all over the world.
Trump won the presidential election on 9/11 this year.
He is a very controversial character who splits opinion and that’s why we are debating today.

4. Will he make a difference?
Yes he will!
No he won’t!
Donald Trump has promised a number of things that could have helped him win….
Building a wall along the southern border to stop Mexican immigration
Cutting taxes to the “middle-classes” from 35% to 15%
Banning all Muslims from entering the country except Sadiq Khan
Put a tax on businesses (who have taken their jobs out of the US )for trading with the US
The republicans have all 3 arms of government so there will be little conflict in any area he needs dealing with.
Trump will have to learn to co-operative with his advisors who don’t want everything that he wants.
He said a lot of things. He won’t be able to go through with everything
It will be impossible to ban an entire religion and doing this will upset and anger some people who may have voted for him
During his campaign, he promised to wipe out Obama Care but when he met Obama last week, he agreed to work on Obama care instead of losing it like he promised.
