Safety is First and Most Critical Enhance the safety of children in New Mexico Utilize technology to support case workers and inform critical case decisions Better decisions reduce agency risk and liabilities Comply with federal Child and Family Services (CFSR) Program Improvement Plan (PIP) Avoid fines/sanctions/legal fees that could result from non-compliance

Modify safety assessment instrument Standardized safety plans Standardize practice on assessing concerns in foster homes Formalize foster child needs assessment and assessment of foster parents ability to address those needs Implement recent amendments to NM law Automate Citizen Review Report Update child specific placement agreement Create process for safety discharge of older youth
