2 Latitude and Longitude is one way of expressing absolute location.
-They are imaginary lines that circle the globe. Represent that 29d N, 95d W. Houston, TX

3 Latitude! 90 degrees North - 90 degress South 23.5 °N 0° 23.5 °S
Remember LAT, lay FLAT.

4 Latitude! Also known as “parallels”…because they run
parallel to each other.

5 Latitude! Northern Hemisphere Southern Hemisphere Divides the
Equator - 0° Divides the Earth into Northern and Southern hemispheres. Southern Hemisphere

6 Longitude! 0 degrees to 180 degrees (both West and East)
Go up and down, from North Pole to South Pole. 0 degrees to 180 degrees (both West and East)

7 Longitude! Also known as “meridians”… like the Prime Meridian.

8 Longitude! Western Hemisphere Eastern Hemisphere Divides the
Earth into Eastern and Western hemispheres. Prime Meridian - 0°
