Latitude and Longitude is one way of expressing absolute location.
-They are imaginary lines that circle the globe. Represent that 29d N, 95d W. Houston, TX

Latitude! 90 degrees North - 90 degress South 23.5 °N 0° 23.5 °S
Remember LAT, lay FLAT.

Latitude! Also known as “parallels”…because they run
parallel to each other.

Latitude! Northern Hemisphere Southern Hemisphere Divides the
Equator - 0° Divides the Earth into Northern and Southern hemispheres. Southern Hemisphere

Longitude! 0 degrees to 180 degrees (both West and East)
Go up and down, from North Pole to South Pole. 0 degrees to 180 degrees (both West and East)

Longitude! Also known as “meridians”… like the Prime Meridian.

Longitude! Western Hemisphere Eastern Hemisphere Divides the
Earth into Eastern and Western hemispheres. Prime Meridian - 0°
