THE GREAT SCHISM— King VS Pope
Pope Boniface VIII told King Philip IV that even kings had to obey the Pope… …so King Philip put him in prison. He broke out but died a month later.

Avignon Pope Clement V moved the papacy from Rome to Avignon which weakened the papacy. Papacy moves back to Rome but chooses a “bad” pope, Pope Urban VI. Another pope elected, Pope Clement VII.

3 Popes? Each declares the other false, and excommunicates one another… “the Great Schism” Council of Constance: met to solve the problem of the 3 popes. (1 Pope = random) All 3 popes resign and Martin V is the new “real” pope, ending the Great Schism.

the Jewish community. 3/4th of people who caught it died. Caused by fleas on rats

The Hundred Year’s War England vs France over who would inherit the throne of France. Joan of Arc: hears voices when she turns 13, telling her to fight the English. She leads them to victory-Charles VII crowned king. Eventually she is caught by English allies and taken to England where she is burned at the stake.
