Actress Marilyn Monroe was born as Norma Jeane Mortensen on June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, California. During her all-too-brief life, Marilyn Monroe overcame a difficult childhood to become one of the world's biggest and most enduring sex symbols. During her career, Monroe's films grossed more than $200 million. Monroe died of a drug overdose on August 5, 1962, at only 36 years old.

Born in New York on June 3, 1925, Tony Curtis's piercing blue eyes and good looks gained him a great deal of attention at a young age. After enlisting in the U.S. Navy and serving in World War II, the aspiring actor moved to Hollywood, California. His career took off following his high-profile marriage to Janet Leigh in 1951, which produced daughters Kelly Lee and Jamie Lee Curtis. In the late 1950s and '60s, Curtis starred in films like Houdini, Operation Petticoat, Some Like It Hot and Spartacus. He later appeared in a variety of low-profile films and on various television shows. He died of cardiac arrest on September 30, 2010, in Henderson, Nevada.

 Jack Lemmon, born on February 8, 1925 in Newton, Massachusetts, acted on TV before moving to Hollywood for the big screen, starting a career that spanned decades. He took on both comedic and dramatic fare— including Some Like It Hot, The Odd Couple, Save the Tiger, Missing and Grumpy Old Men—and was nominated for seven Oscars, winning two. He worked with actor Walther Matthau on many films.
