WHO - FAMILY OF INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATIONS NETWORK ANNUAL MEETING 2014 Committee and Reference Group Report for Monday, 13 October 2014 11-17 October 2014 Barcelona, Spain C&RG SWP Report Key Achievements in 2013/2014 FDC mid-year meeting held June 2014 in Chicago, USA Held in conjunction with meetings to progress work on ICHI Meeting achievements included: Strategic work plan reviewed and finalised Joint drafting of principles for an international casemix classification system based on the WHO-FIC Discussed an early draft of the revised ‘Family’ paper, including the proposed structure, and other issues to be considered Completed an exercise to assess the usefulness of the WHO-FIC reference classifications in measures of Universal Health Coverage, by coding 6 illustrative prevention indicators and 6 illustrative treatment indicators for UHC

WHO - FAMILY OF INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATIONS NETWORK ANNUAL MEETING 2014 Committee and Reference Group Report for Monday, 13 October 2014 11-17 October 2014 Barcelona, Spain C&RG SWP Report Outstanding Issues The FDC annual meeting in Barcelona will include continuing work on these Strategic Work Plan activities: ICHI/FDC-SWP 01 Assist WHO in the development of ICHI Joint session to be held during FDC meetings to discuss progress of ICHI work FDC-SWP 02 Integration of the Family Further discussions towards revision of the 2007 Family paper FDC-SWP 03 Applications of WHO-FIC Discussion of principles for an international casemix classification system and the next steps Other joint use of WHO-FIC reference classifications – such as use of ICD and ICF together
