1 Mrs. Hake’s CLASSROOM Friday, April 6th edition news Sneak Peak Week in Review: at Next Week This week we were excited about Easter! We sorted jelly beans by color words, used tweezers to pick bugs out of Easter grass in science and colored eggs in art. We also practiced reading words by playing the game Pass the Can, eye spy, and bingo. We completed an Easter egg glyph that told a lot about each of us and in the end created unique eggs.  For our writing experience, we made up conversations about what a chick was saying to an egg in a provided picture. We played an Easter addition and subtraction game, we shook an egg carton to see if we could read the word that a bean landed on and we loved all of our Easter games. Discuss numbers –how many groups of ten, how many ones. Write it as a word as, a tally, and a number. Add and subtract using candy as manipulatives. Keep reading and practice retelling the story in order. Check out your child’s grades on-line through the Tipp City Schools website. Use these to guide your practice with your child. Note that there isn't a new DRA score for your child this quarter. This is because we can only assess with the DRA 3 times a year. Rainbow Words Trace, cut, practice: out eight brown
