3 Open NetDrive to Map to Network Drives (if off campus) If accessing using the VCL from off campus, you must use NetDrive to map your drive to your I: J: or K: drives in order to access Dreamweaver files or save to your files to your network folder. If you are accessing from on campus, you should already be mapped to your network files.

4 Dreamweaver Settings from Imported Site: Open Dreamweaver Double-click the Dreamweaver icon to open the application for use. Your window should look similar to this one.

5 Manage Sites Click on Site then select Manage Sites. In the Manage Sites window, select Import.

6 Location to Import from Netdrive I:/ J:/ or K:/ Select the location from which to import your files by clicking Netdrive @ UNCP user files (I:) or (J:) or Netdrive @ UNCP shared files (K:). Note: Dreamweaver is looking for a specific file (*.ste) to import. The file must be exported first, before it can be imported. The import is to reduce setup time when using Dreamweaver from the VCL.

7 Import File Location Find and select the folder where your Dreamweaver files are located. Click on Open.

8 Manage Sites Import Complete Your site should appear in the Manage Sites window. Select Done.

9 Remote View After the your site has been imported, the window pane on the right will allow for both remote and local view. If you select Remote view, it will prompt you for your network password. Enter your password and click OK.

10 Windows Security Alert upon Password Entry: Unblock Click on Unblock in the Windows Security Alert pop- up.

11 Local View Select Local view from window pane on right to see the local view.

12 Message if you lose connection and need to reconnect If you lose connection to the VCL, you must reconnect to NetDrive to access your site files.

13 Dreamweaver Settings from New Site: Open Dreamweaver Double-click the Dreamweaver icon to open the application for use.

14 New Site: Site Definition Click on Site then select New Site.

15 Name the Site Enter the name of your site in the textbox and click on Next.

16 Click No … We are not using Server Technology When prompted to select Yes or No regarding Server Technology, click on the radio button for No. Click on Next.

17 Browse to Store Your Files #1 Select the radio button for Edit local copies on my machine (recommended).

18 Browse to Store Your Files #2 Enter the location where you want to store your files by clicking on the folder and browsing for the desired folder. [A location on your network I: J: or K: is recommended.] Click on Next.

20 Remote Hostname Settings: Department Note: public-html for user and username/dept for department.

21 Enable Check in and Check out For Do you want to enable checking in and checking out files, to ensure that you and your co-workers cannot edit the same file at the same time? Select Yes if more than one person is responsible for departmental web pages, but select No if you are the only one editing the web pages. Select Next.

22 Summary for Site Definition Verify the information is correct and click on Done. If any information is incorrect, go back and edit as necessary.

23 Remote View After the your site has been imported, the window pane on the right will allow for both remote and local view. If you select Remote view, it will prompt you for your network password. Enter your password and click OK.

24 Windows Security Alert upon Password Entry: Unblock Click on Unblock in the Windows Security Alert pop- up.

25 Local View Select Local view from window pane on right to see the local view.

27 Site – Manage Sites - Export Click on Site, Manage Sites, then select the site you want to export and click on Export. [This step is only necessary for the first time a new site is created via the VCL. From this point forward, one would import site information to edit using Dreamweaver via the VCL.

28 Backup Settings Leave it on Back up my settings (includes login, password, and local paths.) Click on OK.

29 Export Location The Export Site window will appear.

30 Save Select the location for which you want to export and save your Dreamweaver settings. Click Save.

31 Save Export Click on Done.
