CARRY-ON BAG/BACKPACK
PACKING GUIDELINES CARRY-ON BAG/BACKPACK JACKET/SWEATSHIRT SANDALS/FLIP FLOPS FOR TYBEE ISLAND HAT INSECT REPELLENT/SUNSCREEN PONCHO OR RAINCOAT 2-3 DRINKS (screw top only) SNACKS- NO chocolate, candy, gum, dairy products, or foods containing peanuts ELECTRONICS-APPROPRIATE GAMES, MUSIC, HEADPHONES, ETC. PHONE & CHARGER (no wifi passcodes will be given)

PACKING GUIDELINES SUITCASE (not accessible until arrival at hotel around 9:00pm) Comfortable clothing for 2 days. Long-sleeve t-shirt will be provided and must be worn on Thursday. Sleepwear Extra walking shoes Own pillow if desired Drinks and Snacks (you will not be allowed to purchase any snacks/drinks from hotel) Travel toiletries Ladies: minimize cosmetics, hair dryers, irons, etc. No Razors No video games that hookup to television (MP3, Wii, Xbox, Play Station, etc.)

MEDICATION Parent must submit Savannah Medication form and medication in original container to nurse by February 13th. This avoids mistakes in your child’s care while away. Medical containers and first aid kit are prepared for each bus. Nurse meets and informs teachers of students with medical needs and provides a refresher course on first aid procedures. Student may be asked to sit out an activity if Medications arrive after February 13th.

EMERGENCY CONTACTS IF YOUR CHILD BECOMES ILL OR INJURED….
A STUDENT SHOULD NOTIFY HOTEL FRONT DESK. TEACHER/HOTEL CONTACTS NURSE AND MR. LEWSADER. PARENT IS CONTACTED BY NURSE OR MR. LEWSADER IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY AT HOME DURING THE DAY…. CONTACT VCMS OFFICE OFFICE WILL CONTACT MR. LEWSADER. MR. LEWSADER WILL CONTACT PARENT. IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY AT HOME IN THE EVENING…. CONTACT MR. LEWSADER - He checks office phone at least once per hour. X

STUDENT/LUGGAGE CHECK IN (7:00-7:35)
DROP OFF PROCEDURES GYM LOBBY (7AM-7:15AM) Park in a parking slot. Lane created by cones is for buses only. Parent may walk student into gym lobby. Know your bus number. Look for bus lists on wall. Student enters gym and checks in with chaperone. Turn in Savannah Bus Ticket and $3 driver tip. Students places all luggage in front of bus section. Student will sit in bleachers according to bus section. STUDENT/LUGGAGE CHECK IN (7:00-7:35) LOAD BUSES (7:35 AM-7:45 AM) DEPART (7:55AM)

PICK-UP PROCEDURES We will arrive back to VCMS by 5:00pm
Students will contact parents when we are about 30 minutes away from arriving back at VCMS. DO NOT ENTER GYM PARKING LOT BEFORE 4:30PM. VCMS BUSES NEED TO DEPART. Parents should park in any available space in gym parking lot, elementary lot, or even grass areas. Please meet your child at their bus. Medications will be handed back before students get off the bus. Carpool!
