Some of the duties of this Job Promote understanding internally of how the countries and markets in which Alliance Data’s businesses operate impact the company’s plans and operations Produce a company-wide “Monthly Fact Book" report for all executives and many other leaders, showing what’s going on in the countries and markets in which we operate Provide education for business leaders on specific topics, by request Our (internal) customers are: business executives who make decisions Strategy, Finance, and HR business partners who support those business leaders other research collaborators (sometimes, we reuse or we build on others’ findings)

Dashboard for execs and other leaders to access whenever they need the information Various facts about our markets, clients, and peers US, Canada, UK, Europe, Brazil, China, India Need to quickly look up a value, sometimes in the middle of a conversation Smartphone access – Apple iPhone & iPad are the standard in our office A web app is better than an iOS app for ease of development and more importantly to us ongoing, for ease of installation and support

Purpose of the Project We store the facts in files on our Windows computers. We recall or search for facts on the web that we need on a given topic, then put them on presentation slides to have discussions with our executives and their support professionals. Need to quickly look up a specific value. We need a browse mode, in which a PC, iPhone, or iPad user is able to easily and quickly browse through the values of the metrics.

Software Constraints The deliverable is some software that will help us access the facts on particular web pages. The software must be accessible on iPhones and iPads as well as Windows PCs. My own current device is an iPhone 6S+, but different users have different Apple devices. The software needs to be a server-based web app that is accessible via a web browser. A launch icon can then be created on the user’s home screen as a shortcut to it. We use Windows 10 Enterprise Edition, and compatibility is required with Windows 7 & 8. Being a corporate functions-only building, we are not allowed to have nor utilize any servers without going through a formal, long process with IT. I will accept delivery of the completed software, then start that process for production mode after the conclusion of the semester – so actually installing it in our office is out of scope for the project. There needs to be features for retrieving individual specific facts, and for browsing series of facts or charts. We need a way to copy a fact or chart in order to insert it into a Note or PowerPoint slide – and other similar documents.
