Improving your mark…
Page 1- Design Context, Design Task, Design Brief, Research Plan
Make sure you have a design brief
Make sure you have a grid with research plan (see help book)
Page 2- Product Analysis of Existing (relevant) products
Make sure you have at least 4 RELEVANT products- these must be storage items not art work or sofas etc.
Make sure your analysis includes your opinion and mention materials used and style/appearance as a minimum (ACCESSFMM is the best detail- see help book)
Page 3- Design Movements Research (with personal comments)
Make sure you have pictures of products, not just art
Add notes of your personal opinion and trends in the design movement- common shapes, colours used, style etc.
Page 4- Dimensions, User interview, User Profile
Include dimensions of ALL things you want to store in mm (not inches) make sure sizes are correct!
Give user interview questions AND answers
Write a summary of what your results show you
Do a user profile- write down WHO your user is- age range, type of job, hobbies, interests etc.
Page 5- Detailed Specification
Give lots of detail. E.g. size in mm, possible colours, shapes, materials etc useable.
State which design movement it should be inspired by!
