The Purpose of COACHE (Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education)
The purposes of CoACHE survey In Higher Education is two-fold: to enlighten academic leaders about the experiences and concerns of full- time, faculty to provide data that lead to informed discussions and appropriate actions to improve the quality of work/life for those faculty

Administration of the Survey Methodology
Purpose: Measuring Faculty Perception (Satisfaction) on 26 Benchmarks Population: Non-tenure track, pre-tenure, and tenured full-time faculty Professorial rank: Professor, associate, Assistant Gender Race/ethnicity Administered online in spring 2015 CUNY response rates: 34% to 65%, with an average response rate of 47% National response rate average % York College response rate %

The survey items are aggregated into 20 benchmarks representing the general thrust of faculty satisfaction along key themes. teaching, research, service, interdisciplinary work, collaboration, mentoring, tenure policies, tenure clarity, tenure reasonableness, promotion, facilities & work resources, personal & family policies, health & retirement benefits, senior leadership, divisional leadership, departmental leadership, departmental collegiality, departmental engagement, departmental quality, appreciation & recognition
