Fiction books are separated. Special Collections are on their own labeled shelves. The rest are in order by the Dewey Decimal System.

The Dewey Decimal System
This system was devised by Melvil Dewey. All knowledge is divided into 10 parts. If you know the call number you can find the book.

How do I find a call number?
You can use the signs and browse. You can use the On Line Catalog. You can ask the Librarians.

Call Numbers are on the spine of a book.
They are the address of the book. AR general classification F type of book S Author’s inital AR reading level

Call Numbers do not have to have……………..numerals!

AR Easy Books are in order by reading level.
Each book is marked by the dot on the spine. Also marked on the spine label. Also marked inside the front page.
