2 Benefits of coming to New France
France already had a colony in the Caribbean. New France helped the economy of France by adding trading goods

3 Economic system Mercantilism: an economic system in which a colony provides the parent country with cheap raw materials and buys manufactured goods in return Triangular trade: an economic system in which a colony could trade only with it’s parent country or with other colonies from the same country.

4 Citizens of new france According to the 1666 census, 17 trades were practiced in New France. All of these were men as women were not allowed to become skilled workers. Skilled trades included: soldiers, carpenters, masons, tailors, merchants, bakers, townsmen, millers, coopers (law enforcemcent), butchers, surgeons, pastry cooks, locksmiths, notaries, teachers and printers.

5 Citizens of new france - hierarchy
A hierarchical society is one in which there are distinct levels of status or authority. In New France, the top of the hierarchy included government officials and church officials. Next came skilled workers. The bottom of the hierarchy included indentured servants (destitute people who came to Canada for freedom in exchange for years of hard work), ciminals (often agreed to a sentence of hard work in exchange for freedom), slaves (few in New France) and First Nations.
