Geography of Greece What is a peninsula? On your map – the Dardanelles connects what two bodies of water? Why would it be important to be able to get from one body of water to the other? The kingdom to the north of Greece is the birthplace of Alexander the Great (important Greek leader). Where was he born? Greece is very mountainous. What effect might mountains have had on the Greeks (think about food and interaction between city-states)? How do you think the Greeks made money?
