Warm Up What do you recall about the following terms?
Congruent: Two or more angles or sides with equal measures Acute Angle: An angle that measures less than 90° Obtuse Angle: An angle that measures more than 90° Right Angle: An angle that is exactly 90° Complementary Angles: Angles whose measures have a sum of 90° Supplementary Angles: Angles whose measures have a sum of 180° Vertical Angles: Diagonal angles having equal measures formed by two intersecting lines Parallel Lines: Two or more lines on the same plane that are equidistant thus never intersect Perpendicular Lines: Lines that intersect at a right angle Transversal Line: Lines that intersect two or more parallel lines

Unit 6 - Day 1 ~Intro to Geometric Properties~
Objective: SWBAT describe the properties of lines and angles.

Parallel Lines & Transversals
Vertical Angles a Corresponding Angles P t A Alternate Interior Angles b B D Alternate Exterior Angles C Linear Pair Angles E Consecutive Interior Angles F Q Consecutive Exterior Angles Define and label More examples and definitions next 5 slides
7
Alternate Angles- Have the same measurement
Alternate Angles- Have the same measurement
9
Vocab Adjacent Angles- angles that have a common side and a common vertex (corner point) Corresponding Angles- two parallel lines cut by a transversal then the corresponding angles are congruent
10
Same side angles- when two parallel lines are cut by a transversal the angles are supplementary and so they add up to 180°
