Man has always been rebellious
3
through which grace flows
Faith is the conduit through which grace flows Romans 10: 17 – So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
4
James 2: 18 But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works." 19 You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. 20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?
5
Matthew 7: 21 Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 " Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; Depart from Me; you who practice lawlessness.’
6
The faith by which grace is communicated involves the total surrender of one’s will to God to the point one lives in obedience to His Christ.
7
Mark 8: 34 And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. 35 "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? 37 For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."

Luke 22: 42 He knelt down and began to pray, 42 saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done." Galatians 2: 20 ... so that I might live to God. 20 "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who …

Ephesians 2: 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
10
II Thessalonians 1: 11 To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
11
Some specific actions are required
I Peter 2: 9 But you are A chosen race, A royal priesthood,, A holy nation, A people for God's own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
12
Matthew 28: 18 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. 18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, " All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, …”
13
To accomplish this we must have :
Our final assignment from Jesus was to make disciples as we move about. To accomplish this we must have : 1. A message 2. A messenger 3. A mission field 4. An organized strategy
14
I. What is the message that makes disciples ?
15
John 17: 8 for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me. John 17: 20 do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one;
16
Words that make disciples must include :
1. Who Jesus is 2. What Jesus did 3. What Jesus offers 4. What Jesus requires I Corinthians 15: 1-7
17
II. God’s message must be
carried by devoted messengers.
18
The absence of proclaimers dismayed Jesus
Matthew 9: 37 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest."
19
Jesus called Christians to be proclaimers
I Peter 2: 9 But you are A chosen race, A royal priesthood, A holy nation, A people for God's own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
20
All who Jesus calls out He sends back
John 17: 14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
21
III. Each messenger must
spread the message on his own mission field.
22
Lifestyle of Christians in the N.T.
Acts 8: 1, 4 And on that day a great persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. … 4 Therefore, those who had been scattered went about preaching the word.
23
Christians serve in the world but must never be of the world
Our mission field is wherever we happen to be I John 2: 15 – Do not love the world nor the things in the world. John 17: 14 – I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
24
IV. We must have a strategy
for winning the lost.
25
Emulate the Prophet’s attitude
Jeremiah 20: 9 But if I say, "I will not remember Him or speak anymore in His name, Then in my heart it becomes like a burning fire shut up in my bones; and I am weary of holding it in, and I cannot endure it.”
26
Emulate the Apostle’s attitude
Acts 4: 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, " Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; 20 for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard."
27
We must practice until we can deliver the gospel message well.
Proficiency in anything requires practice.
28
II Thessalonians 1: 7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, 8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.
29
I Peter 3: 15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; 16 and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.
30
Implement Your development strategy
Make a lesson plan for each prospect
31
Every interaction with an outsider is an opportunity
Colossians 4: 5 Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
32
God’s goal is the salvation of souls Have you accepted His gift ?
Are you sharing it ?
33
His body was sacrificed His blood paid the
In remembrance – His body was sacrificed because of your sin. His blood paid the penalty for sin.
34
All those outside of Christ are eternally lost, excluded.
Ephesians 2: 11-12 Therefore, remember that .. You the gentiles .. Were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
