Older pedestrians have the highest fatality rate of any age group; 18% of fatalities, 13% of the population

Poorly designed roads and inadequate features on the road (poorly timed crosswalk signals, hard-to-see signs, pavement markings and signals) put older drivers and pedestrians at needless risk of serious injury or death
