3 The task of the Swedish Transport Administration
The Swedish Transport Administration is responsible for: the long-term planning of the transport system for road traffic, rail traffic, maritime shipping, and air traffic construction, operation and maintenance of the state road network and national railway network

6 We perform strategic planning for Sweden´s national transport network
The Swedish Transport Administration is responsible for the long-term planning of the transport system for road traffic, rail traffic, maritime shipping, and air traffic The Swedish Transport Administration is responsible for construction, operation, and maintenance of the state road network and national railway network We promote and take action in regional strategic planning and transport system analyses, and community planning projects We interlink the transport system with regional and municipal community

A collaboration project to: find creative solutions for city planning and city development lay a foundation for development, attitudes and regulatory systems facilitate collaboration between private-public, individuals-society, different sectors-party interests and also local-regional-national

8 The challenge to develop a new culture
The staff at both the road adminstration and the rail administration represented a committed workforce with long tradition and strong cultures Very short time to organize the new administration Focus on getting a new organization in place with working systems, not least for the rail system, but also for economy and IT in the administration After a year the need to support and enhance development of a new culture was obvious Knowledge, story-telling and creativity
