New Deal brings great changes in American life & society. Old ways give way to new Brings hope to blacks and woman for expanded role in society.

FDR breaks new ground on appointing blacks. “Black Cabinet”- unofficial advisors to FDR Eleanor Roosevelt champions civil rights. New Deal did not address civil rights within society. Southern Democrats hamper FDR attempts to bring further changes.

9 Sports 1920’s seen as Golden Age in sports.
Attendance suffers in 30’s but not interest. Baseball (DiMaggio), Boxing (Louis) Babe Didrikson
