5 The Threat of Worldliness
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever” John 2:15-17

6 The Threat of Worldliness
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” Romans 12:1-2

7 The Threat of Worldliness
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth” Colossians 3:1-2 “No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier” Timothy 2:4

8 The Threat of Worldliness
“Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God” James 4:4 “Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul…” 1 Peter 2:11

9 The Threat of Worldliness
A Clear & Present Danger to Christians “for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world” 2 Tim. 4:10 “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” 1 Tim. 6:10

10 The Threat of Worldliness
A Clear & Present Danger to Christians “For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal & behaving like mere men?” 1 Cor. 3:3 “It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles – that a man has his father’s wife!” Corinthians 5:1

11 The Threat of Worldliness
A Clear & Present Danger to Christians “For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies” Thessalonians 3:11 “One of them, a prophet of their own, said, ‘Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.’ This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith” Titus 1:12-13
