Discuss the usefulness of ESPON key findings for policy makers in developing and implementing policies/strategies in the context of Cohesion Policy and the Territorial Agenda 2020.

Which functional regions across borders and/or in a transnational context require more attention from policy makers to improve competitiveness and reduce economic, social and ecological fragmentation?
What are the opportunities and challenges for better territorial integration in cross-border and transnational functional regions in Europe? Where does Europe have unused potentials in this respect?
What additional territorial evidence do policy makers need in this context?
