2 The Nuremberg Trials Held after WWII to punish Nazi leaders and sympathizers 13 trials between At the time, many criticized the trial and the tactics used to punish the Nazi’s, but over time it has become regarded as a milestone for international prevention of Genocide and global crimes against humanity

3 The Nuremberg Trials Hitler, Himmler and Goebbels choose to commit suicide rather than risk capture. The remaining captured Nazi’s were tried and many were executed. Hermann Goering committed suicide the night before his execution by taking cyanide that he hid in his medicine can. Most of the Nazi’s were defiant, refused to cooperate, some even wore their Swastika’s in the court room, many laughed during the trial.
