= 56,000 kg m/s to the east
p = momentum (kg m/s)
m = mass (kg)
v = velocity (m/s)

The change in momentum depends on the force that acts and the length of time it acts.
Impulse = change in momentum = Δmv
Impulse = F Δ t

So the official formula for change in momentum:
F Δ t = m Δ v
