In Nov. 1999，a memorandum of understanding was made between CERN and NSFC( Natural Science Foundation of China), declaring that China participates the ATLAS and CMS collaboration
Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Nanjing University (NJU), Shandong University (SDU), University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) joined the collaboration as Chinese Cluster.
Supports also came from Ministry of Science and Technology of China and Academy of Science of China.

By the end of 2004, all chambers were compeleted and transportation to CERN finished in 2005
A team consisting of 3 engineers from SDU is working on the TGC commissioning at CERN now
