Edits Do you ever wonder where these edits originate?
Do you know how the State of Maryland creates edits metafiles? Can you imagine the volume of edits that get released, changed, or deleted?

The MCR creates 4 separate edit sets for the various type of reporters Hospital (Incoming Abstracts) Physician Office/Radiation Therapy Ambulatory Surgery/Labs Consolidated Edits

Edits Edit Writer – Software from the CDC that assists in creating the various Edit sets. GenEdits Plus – Software from CDC that applies the edits to a file.

Edits Other caveats to creating the edit sets
CDC requires a copy to incorporate into their software prior to sending the state any updated files for Web Plus, Prep Plus, and CRS Plus. The edits have to be appropriate and the reporters must be able to make the corrections. Internal Westat IT staff must have the final ‘approved’ version to update any existing software currently in use. Posting on the MCR website. Delivering the edits to the vendors!
