1. 1920’s: GOLDEN AGE OF SPORTS

2. The Roaring Twenties
The 1920’s were known as the “roaring twenties” and “The Golden Age of Sports”.
Sports like baseball, basketball, football, boxing etc. were popular in the 1920s.
One of the most famous athlete was George Herman Ruth Jr. commonly known as Babe Ruth.

3. Babe Ruth
Babe Ruth was the most famous player of all times in the 1920’s.
His nicknames were Babe, The Great Gambino, The sultan of swat, etc.
He defined sports in the 1920’s.
He was the right fielder for the Yankees.
He played 22 seasons.

4. 1920’s Baseball
Babe Ruth set most of the rules for the next 80 years in baseball.
In 1920’s the Negro Leagues provided an opportunity for some of the greatest talent to be seen in baseball.
Rube Foster provided a sound foundation for African Americans and LAtin to play in the U.S.
In the 1920’s the radio was just a new invention and it was a great way for people to get information about the game.

5. 1920’s Boxing
After the victorious win of the US in WW1 Boxing attracted entertainment dollar with legendary fighters and great fights.
One of the most famous fighters was Jack Dempsey; he was Boxing’s first superhero.
He brought a different type of style to boxing, creating a template for the heavyweight champion belt.
Most of the sports shaping came from the 1920’s.

6. Jack Dempsey
On the Independence Day 1919, Jack Dempsey fought against the world’s heavyweight champion who was taller and bigger than him.
It didn’t look like he would stand a chance but he won and since then he’s been winning the championships from 1919 to
