Poetry is often a great way to describe a difficult situation. Both Blake poems reflect on the subject of child labor in England and use imagery to show the harsh conditions. Despite these similarities, “The Chimney Sweeper” from Songs of Innocence uses diction to support the idea that children who do all of their work go to heaven.
